Sundance Theme Header Not Aligned

Trying to build a site using Sundance, which is quite neat but when I try and put a header image (the recommended size) it goes wider on the left than the content slider and menu. It seems to align properly for the text header but not for the image. I’m also wondering how to make the height of the header not quite as big. I assume I need to change something in the CSS.
WordPress isn’t my strong suit any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
