Super Admin Won’t Transfer Rights

  The super admin to our site will NOT relinquish her role. She is no longer part of the team and hasn’t been so for several months (and was member for just one year). How can we move on? She is a super control freak. We have sent her instructions on how to remove herself and she says she cannot…of course this is not true. HELP!

  I am having the same problem. The wordpress.com website is http://cens-help.net and the super/original admin is sandysanfords while the desired new admin account is (email visible only to moderators and staff).

  Attempting to delete the original admin and transfer all content attribution to the new one always fails with the error:
  I also wonder if a possible cause could be existing forms in the site that send email to the super-user email account.

  My original super-admin had several sites and I wanted to change where some sites sent their submissions to so I could keep them separate.

  The owner of a site cannot be removed. You’ll need to transfer ownership of the site from this account to another admin, and then that process will remove this account as a user on the site.

  Our site is friendsofshortavenue.org. It is wordpress.com. We cannot transfer
  our site to another WordPress.com account because we are not the owner. Is there a workaround?

  @aamcasilli, please don’t post into existing threads created by other users. That just makes it harder for us to help both you and them.

  Only the current owner of a site can transfer ownership to another account.
