Super frusterated in setting up

I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing in setting up my theme! I chose fictive and I have a home page that I don’t want as a home page, I have no idea how to change it, I have no idea how to add content, I don’t know what widgets are and I’m ready to trash the whole blog idea! I need a complete walk through every page .

I have chosen that theme as well! It is a great theme! It all may seem overwhelming in the beginning but as you play with the theme and site it will become easier, I promise! :)
Here is some information on fictive, you can scroll down and it can help you do a number of things with the theme!
https://wordpress.com/themes/fictiveOn the top when you click “My Sites” and then below look for Themes – Customize, it will then bring you in to edit your site. You can use the menu on the left for a lot of it, but if you look at your site on the right you can see the little circle pencil icons that also allow you to edit those items. I highly recommend reading the information about fictive and then playing with these edits and that should help! If you have a specific question this forum is a great place to help you out! Just remember to only post one post per question though, so you can receive the help you are looking for!

I have gotten the basics down for this theme but I just can’t figure out how to get all the pins, posts and photos listed separately like on the sample page. The problem is navigating that theme. I was able to figure out on a different them but I like frictive better. I have watched the videos and readevthrough the 5 steps but this theme is getting the better of me. I got it all set up to the point of showing the separate boxes to the right. Also what are widgets and text widgets?

On the fictive theme, how do I get all the boxes to the right as shown on the sample page?

Are you referring to the blog posts on this sample page (the first box is titled A Great Night Out, the next one Beach Bums for a Day)? If so, my bet is that your site is set to a different Front page. Instead of showing a stream of your blog posts, it’s set to a static page. To get it the way it is displayed on the link above, please follow these steps:
1 – log into your wp-admin panel at https://adybscom.wordpress.com/wp-admin
2 – in the menu to the left, click Settings > Reading.
3 – At the top, where it says Front page displays, choose Your latest posts. If I am right in my assumptions, this was set to A static page.
4 – scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Save changes.
5 – go back to your site https://adybscom.wordpress.com and check if your front page is now set to your blog posts. -
