If you don’t mind answering a few questions, so I can better understand the steps you have taken, and what help I can provide you with, I would appreciate it :)
To begin, have you paid for an upgraded plan?
You will need an upgraded WordPress.com plan on your site in order to map a domain. Each paid plan comes with a free domain credit you can use to either register a new domain or map one you already own.

Did you recently purchase a custom domain name elsewhere and then paid for domain mapping with WordPress? If so, have you followed the steps outlined in this support document: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

Hi,
My domain and mapping was up for renewal. This is what has happened:
1. On the 4th September WordPress charged my mum £26 via PayPal for Domain registration, Domain Mapping and Domain Privacy Registration.2. My mum questioned the payment with PayPal because she did not know what it was. When she realised she then okayed it and the payment has gone through and I have a receipt for it dated the 6th September.
3. When I go into my account there is no acknowledgment of my purchased domain name anywhere apart from on the 6th September receipt.
4. Today a message came on the my account pages saying that I had to pay £17 because my mum had questioned the Paypal payment. I did this and I now have a further receipt for £17 entitled ‘Chargeback’ for a new purchase – I do not know that is.
5. To date there is still no acknowledgment of the domain name I have renewed apart from on the receipt. When I try and access my website using the domain name it gives the following message:
‘Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain.’I want to use the domain name I have renewed for another website that is not on WordPress and at the moment I cannot find a way to contact customer services and I cannot find a way to manage the domain mane I have purchased.

Exactly which WordPress.COM username account registered the underlying .wordpress.com site and purchased the upgrade for it?

I’ll run through what I can see on your account. blueskyandblossom.com renewed on 6th September 2017. You disputed the payment through PayPal and they issued a chargeback against us:
You then paid the chargeback fee to unlock your account and closed the dispute. I’ve now restored the domain to your site:

As the dispute was closed, I’ve also refunded the chargeback fee. You can view a copy of the refund receipt in your Billing History:

Refunds usually take 7-14 business days to show on your statement, although international refunds (outside the US) can take a little longer.
