Hi,
There is no phone support with any WordPress.com plan, instead there is e-mail and live chat support available.
What do you mean by templates? If you are talking about themes you can preview them by clicking the theme you’re interested in and clicking Open Live Demo. It doesn’t use your site for the demo unless you click Try & Customize in the demo screen

WordPress.com doesn’t offer support over the phone because, the support team often has to reference links and screenshots in the support communication, this makes it easier for the support team to assist you.
But don’t worry, the support team is readily available through:

Free sites can get help here in these public support forums. Sites that are using WordPress.com paid plans get access to private email and live chat support.
