Support Documents – Vague Instructions

For registering and mapping a new domain name – the Register a new Domain name is not too bad – but the part about the domain mapping is not very clear. There is Map an Existing Domain – but if someone just bought a new domain name that would not be all that clear – a bit of extra words to the effect that once a domain name is registered it needs to be mapped – and even if the instructions / link goes to Map Existing – a bit of guidance to the effect that the link is the correct one

    thanks

I’m not quite following you, what part of that support document is vague? Could you maybe quote it?

    Looking forward to your reply.

The domain mapping requirement gets lost to me – while the instructions say $ 18.-/year for Domain Registration – that is really not true – $ 5.- Registration & $ 13.- Mapping – maybe during the registration a person is forced to map a domain at the same time – they are told to update the Primary Domain – but no place in the instructions is anyone told they need to map a domain except at the top if they already have a domain name it needs to be mapped –

Does purchasing a domain name also perform domain mapping and the person is charged $ 18.- and not $ 5.- + $ 13.-?

Not having bought a domain name here – seems to me that step 4-B should be the domain name will be mapped for you – or something like that – since step 5 can’t be done unless there is domain mapping in place – but I can’t see where domain mapping actually happens –

Sorry – I am too cheap this morning to buy a domain name to see the steps

    thanks

Domain Registration is a paid upgrade that costs $18.00 per domain ($25.00 for .me and .co domains), per blog, per year. You can register as many domains as you want on the same blog, but you have to pay for each registration separately.

I’d be happy to change the wording but it won’t make a difference to the price. Domain Mapping is a technical part included in the process when you purchase a domain. Regardless whether the domain is set as primary or not.
