support for non-English custom TLD?
-
It looks like the ‘custom domain’ feature (paid plan) is only for English TLD?
Is it possible do something like that, that’s not English-US?
I don’t have a site linked to this WordPress.com account

Yes it seems that TLDs with non-english characters can’t be registered with WordPress.com but you could always register your domain elsewhere and connect it to a site here.

Hi @akismete96,
To add to what @themagicrobot noted, some TLD’s are unavailable to register/transfer to WordPress.com, however you can connect domains registered elsewhere.
If you’re interested in upgrading to a paid plan, you can review plan features and pricing here: https://wordpress.com/pricing/
I hope that helps and please reach out again if you have any further questions.

The steps toward connecting an existing/custom domain still seems to exclude IDN (or unicode). Could you point me toward the appropriate step-by-step?
Right now, I seem to have inadvertently created a ‘free’ blog?

Registering, transferring, or connecting an IDN domain on WordPress.com is not currently supported.
