Support forums legibility

This is a comment rather than a request for help, since I doubt anyone is going to change the forum software for one user. However, I’ve just visited the forums for the first time in ages and find that they are now virtually unusable for someone with visual problems such as myself (I h the past i could zoom in and the font colour and contrast were strong enough to read with ease. Now, with fixed font size zoom is useless and pale blue on white is appalling for anyone with visual impairment.
I don’t know who thought this revamp was an improvement, but they were wrong!

Thanks, timethief. Further investigation shows that this happens in Chrome but not IE9, where the Help section is completely zoomable. Whether this is due to a problem in Chrome or whether it’s something to do with WordPress itself don’t know, but since Chrome is my preferred browser, it’s still a nuisance. I shall report it to Chrome in any case, as it certainly wasn’t happening before.

I use Firefox 20. I prefer to use it rather than using Chrome 26.
If you have difficulty reading the text on on any site on the internet I use keyboard shortcuts to increase or decrease font (text) size.

For some reason my husband doesn’t like Firefox, but I’m well aware of how to use keyboard shortcuts to increase and decrease font size in the two browsers I do use. It’s the fact that these aren’t working in Chrome for the Help section of WordPress which led me to make my first comment on the subject. My blog and dashboard are fine, it’s just the Help section where zoom isn’t working in Chrome.

I expect you are referring to Chrome 26. Is that right? I want Staff to know about this so I tagged this thread for their attention.

Would you mind taking a screenshot and uploading it via Media -> Add New in your blog’s Dashboard so we can take a look?
I’m not seeing what you’re describing in Chrome 26 myself.

Hi and thanks. If you could give me an email address i will attach you a Word document showing the difference between 100% and 150% in both Chrome and IE9, which I think would be self-explanatory.

Now here I’m really going to show my ignorance. :-) I’ve uploaded it into my Media Library, but haven’t a clue what else I’m supposed to do to enable you to see it.

That’s fine, I can see it, and now I see what you mean. :)
I’m not seeing the issue in Chrome 26 on a Mac. I’ve passed this on to the team, but I’m suspecting this is an issue with Chrome on Windows and not something on our end.
