WordPress is not loading widgets. I can’t fix the sidebar. Is there an actual person who can tell me what is going on…??

I am an actual person. Which widgets are you trying to move into the sidebar and which browser and version are you using? Have you tried the Cookie Dance? http://raincoastermedia.com/2012/05/01/the-cookie-dance/

Awesome! lol
I loaded a new post, went back to make a change to ONE image widget, and when I deleted that ONE image widget, I lost my entire sidebar. It’s gone. And now I can’t load new widgets. Some of them won’t even drag and drop. I’ve cleared cache and all that. I have NO clue what is wrong. :-/ -
Internet Explorer, whatever’s current. And the widgets were pretty much all of them…image, milestone, twitter, facebook, etc…I’m just trying to replace what was lost somehow.
Sorry, I was so frustrated I forgot to answer your actual questions. No, I have no tried Cookie Dance. lol -

I can see two widgets in your sidebar right now: Subscription and Recent Posts.
Mind you, several people are reporting issues with sidebars. It could be a browser problem or it could be something staff are doing. Right now I don’t have enough info to say either way.
-
I have no idea what version. I did the Cookie Dance. And those two widgets are the default ones. Everything that was on there earlier has vanished. Now I’m unable to load an image into the image widget, it keeps saying it needs to be configured.
Do you know…if I can’t see that information in my Sidebar – is it truly gone? It’s 1am my time. I can’t stay up all night to figure this out. I wish there was a staff person available. :(
-
OMG. I think it might be working. Let’s hope I can ADD the widgets back. Fingers crossed. (and toes, knees, elbows, whatever, lol)
-
Nope. I take that back. Was able to do one image widget, saved it, went and attempted to do a second – the first one has vanished and now I’m too ticked to figure this out.
WordPress…please figure this junk out by morning. >:(
-
It is wordpress. I have the same problem. Lost most of my sidebar except recent posts and above that. Got links back but RSS won’t drag and drop.
-
How’d you get your links back? I’ve done everything I know to do on my side. This morning I was able to add a widget, but when I previewed the sidebar the last image I added was gone. Again. For whatever reason the sidebar is only allowing up to three items.

@trishmarie
Exactly which browser and version of it are you using. If you don’t know click here to find out > http://whatsmyuseragent.com/Note: If you are using an IE9 browser in compatibility mode that makes it render as IE7 and IE7 is not supported.
Updating the browser to the latest stable version if required can be done here where you can also download any browser http://browsehappy.com/
How you are connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com?
The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers. Also note that the main dashboard isn’t designed to work with touch devices through the tablet and smartphone browsers. -
Ok – I don’t know what version of IE I’m using but I will check.
How is this suddenly a problem…if in fact it is? Everything was fine till I moved one widget. Then the sidebar went to crap. That doesn’t sound like a browser problem, that sounds like a WordPress problem.

This is what I’m using according to the site you mentioned:
Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; MSIE 9.0; Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; Trident/5.0; BOIE9;ENUS)This means nothing to me tho. :-/

Is there a way to reach out directly to a staff member, rather then just waiting for them to stumble upon my posts??
-
Just created blog last evening. The Widget page is non-responsive. I cannot alter any widget I created, and the FB widget is showing an Error. Need help PRONTO. WordPress problem, I gather, as everyone is having a Widget issue.
-
Yes. I’ve come to the conclusion it’s not my limited computer savvy but WordPress. LOL
G’luck and if you figure out how to get your widgets working, please come back and tell me! :)

@trsihmarie
That means you are using IE9. Check to make sure you are not running it incompatibility mode. if so then see here > http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html@renaissancegyrl

So a question – I have Chrome on my computer as well…if I attempt to use WordPress from there, would I have the same compatibility issues? I’m off to see if it works any differently there. I don’t really understand ‘incompatibility mode’ so please let me know how I can check to see if this is the problem and perhaps how to avoid it in the future. Thanks!
