Support Issues
-
This is the very first website I ever found where “contact support” meant only posting to a forum…meaning the 24/7 support you expect is not what it is presented to be…
I fully realize that there are issues where forums are the best venue for help, but I think that is best left to the individual to decide. There are times when posting to a forum is not appropriate or where sensitive content is needing to be discussed. At that point, I think this site is better served to have a live person to answer the e-mail. It may take a couple of hours or even a day or so to get a response, but it would be nice to have an option to contact a live person if that is needed.
In my case, that is exactly what I needed to do, so posting to a forum really will not address my issue…so I’m disappointed in that apsect of this site…
I would suggest WP to consider this as an option for non-standard issues where a forum is not going to help and is maybe even inappropriate…

This is a peer support forum. Here Volunteers and Staff work cooperatively to deliver support. Here Volunteers answer most questions and Staff monitor. When Volunteers cannot provide the required support we flag threads for Staff attention.
If you have purchased upgrades you can reach WordPress.com Support Staff by using this link. http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
We believe everyone deserves fantastic support for their WordPress.com blog. Our backlog of requests has consistently grown as our team of 10 receives nearly 8,000 messages a week. To get caught up and give our customers the support they expect with paid upgrades, we made the difficult decision to limit the contact form to customers with upgrades. Once we are caught up we will work on bringing a high level of support back for everyone.
If you are new to WordPress.com we have a step-by-step guide to all things WordPress. Our helpful forums remain open and you can find more details in our support documentation. There we have guides on getting started, writing your first post, and finding your readers.
We will update this space as we work on bringing back outstanding, free support for everyone. Thank you. Announcement 22/03/2012 made at the link above.

On the bottom of your Admin page you will find a link to the step by step Learn WordPress.com blogging Tutorial prepared by Staff. http://learn.wordpress.com/
The support documentation is all found at the Support link http://en.support.wordpress.com which is also on the bottom of your Admin page. The searchblox there provides results from both the documentation and from support forum threads like this one.
See also http://en.support.wordpress.com/introduction/The bottom line is that you can’t get support on this peer support forum without clearly stating what it is the you need help with.
