Je voudrais supprimer définitivement mon compte wordpress

  • Hey there!

Since we don’t want other people to have your username in the future, we don’t delete usernames (they are kept so they cannot be recycled). For more information, please see this link below:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/

Here’s a few suggestions for you if you’d like to scrub the account:

    1) Empty and delete your sites:

First of all, be sure to empty your sites of all content. You can find out more about how to do this here:

Empty Your Site to Start Fresh

Next, delete the site following the guide on this page:

    Delete a Website

Please be aware that this is irreversible!

    2) If you are trying to unsubscribe from emails sent to you from WordPress.com, go here and click on “Block Emails”:

    https://wordpress.com/settings/notifications/

    3) You can also go here to remove all data except the account name and an email address. Create a throwaway email address and change the account email to that throwaway address. This will only leave the username behind:

    https://wordpress.com/me/account/
    https://wordpress.com/me/profile

    4) To ensure the account is locked up tightly, visit this site, generate a password of 15-20 characters, and change the account password to it:

    http://www.thebitmill.com/tools/password.html

    5) While you cannot completely delete your Gravatar profile, you can remove all of your profile information easily through the “Edit My Profile” page here:

    http://en.gravatar.com/profiles/edit/?noclose#about-you

You can also hide your Gravatar profile from external access. Visit your profile page (click your name in the top navigation of the website), then click the “Hide My Profile” link in the bottom, right-hand corner.

Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

It’s totally idiot and illegal. We are allowed to remove all the datas regarding ourselves. I don’t agree with your terms. If I want them to be removed it’s my right. So I also want to know how to do to delete completely my account. If you tell me that it’s not possible I will hire a lawyer to make you respect the law!

  • Unknown's avatar

It is not illegal. You entered a binding legal contract to register an account here, and you clicked the Terms of Service link indicating you had read and agreed to the Terms of Service including this policy http://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/ made under it.

There is no reason to be upset at all. You can replace your email address with a throwaway address here https://wordpress.com/me/account And you can remove any information you voluntarily provided. You can make your gravatar profile private. You can also remove information from Google.

Wasting money on a lawyer qualified to practice American law ( I am a retired paralaegal) would be a waste of money, not to mention your time.

Here’s how to deactivate your account:
Although username accounts are not deleted, so you cannot be impersonated and have your reputation affected by anyone registering the same username in the future, there are steps you can take that amount to removing all personal information and result in leaving only a throwaway email address behind. http://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/

    1. You can go to My Account->Edit Profile at https://wordpress.com/me/account and remove all data except the account name and an email address. Create a throwaway email address and change the account email to that throwaway address. This only leaves the username behind.

    2. To unsubscribe from email sent to you from WordPress.com, go here and click on “Block all subscription emails from WordPress.com”:
    https://wordpress.com/settings/notifications/

    3. To ensure the account is locked up tightly, visit this site, generate a password of 15-20 characters, and change the account password to it:
    http://www.thebitmill.com/tools/password.html

    4. To hide your Gravatar profile, login and on the bottom right hand corner of your Gravatar profile page you will find a “hide” button visible only to you that you can click. http://en.gravatar.com/support/profile-privacy

IMPORTANT NOTE: Deleting sites and/or site content or making the site private does not remove indexed content from the SERPs (search engine page results) and we cannot help with that. Google and Bing only clear their caches of deleted indexed content that produces a 404 (page not found) every 3 – 6 months. To completely remove an entire page from Google search results after it produces a 404 (page not found):

    IT IS ILLEGAL!!!
you can’t tell people “no we don’t want and won’t remove your personal infos”. Do you know what means PRIVACY?!

  • Unknown's avatar

    you copy/paste won’t change anything

Using the instructions provided above will result in deactivation of your account:

    1. removal of your email address,
    2. blocking of all subscription emails from WordPress.com,
    3. changing the account password,
    4. hiding your Gravatar profile,
    5. removing content from Google.

If you do not act on the information provided that is your prerogative.

This thread is tagged for closure.

your way of thinking is totally idiot and absurd!
what’s the point of writing something like “kndgkdg” if at the end you’re gonna erase the account? you can do it right now, that’s the same thing. Except if having active accounts make you earn money.
    you’re just stupid!

  • Unknown's avatar

there was a time where we could just close the website (meaning all the account too) and now just because I don’t know why they changed everything and now we have an account that we didn’t ask for and also a gravatar. For what? For nothing!

  • Hi folks, I’m closing this thread. You agreed with the terms when you signed up, but again, there’s a simple way out.

You will need to delete the site here:
    https://wordpress.com/settings

    Remove any data from Gravatar.com

then head to https://wordpress.com/me/account and enter a “throwaway” email address. Change the password too if you really want to lock yourself out.

The username will be completely deactivated so neither you nor anyone else can use it again.
