Sure would like to be able to cancel publishing
-
In a way, WordPress is too good. When I hit Publish, my new post almost instantly shows up in my feed reader and in my e-mail.
But it seems like about once a year, I manage to hit the Publish button accidentally before I have finished writing. Aieee! My words, they’re not yet perfect! I want them back!
Once I hit that button, is there a way to tell it to cease and desist, not to publish? I don’t see one.
A workaround, and one I intend to start using immediately, is when I start a new post to first set the Scheduled line in the Publish box to be for some future date and time. That way, if I accidentally hit the button, it only schedules the post.
But that’s a hassle. I’d sure like a way to cancel the publishing of my post if it is in process.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Once you hit Publish, there is no way to prevent it from Publishing. You can, however, save it as a Draft instead of hitting Publish; to do this, hit Update. Then you can preview the post and Publish if you wish.

I always Save as Draft then Preview, then I like to let the article sit for a short time then go back and read it again.

I do the same and the post usually has several typos, layout isn’t so great. And all you can do is above. There is no current way to stop the publish.
