Suspected WordPress Site Stealing Peoples Designs and Money

  Good Afternoon Y’all

  I am the owner of NILProShop.com. We specialize in creating custom merchandise for college athletes via group licensing. There are dozens of companies just like mine. Unfortunately we have discovered that DalatShirts.com is going around to these merch websites and ripping the artwork from the athlete merch lines and attempting to sell it on their platform.   I have done some research on the Dalat Shirt company. It appears that they are located in Vietnam. We have installed firewall on GoDaddy to prevent foreign countries from accessing our website but it does not seem to be working. I have contacted trademark lawyers to see if there is anything we can do. Their suggestion was to find the platform the website is being hosted upon and see if the ownership would be willing to de-platform the Dalat Shirt website.

  My first question is…. Is anybody able to confirm that DalatShirt.com is in fact a WordPress site?

  My second question is…. Does anybody know what we can do to put a halt to this scam website? From what I have read…. anybody that purchases merch off DalatShirt.com never receives their items.

  Hi there!

  I checked the site dalatshirt.com and confirmed that it is not hosted by us at WordPress.com. It uses the self-hosted WordPress.org software, which anybody can install on their servers, and they host their site with a different company.

  To clarify: There are some differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org. If you aren’t sure about them, please check the following page that explains it: WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org.

  Based on the domain’s WHOIS records, I can see that they are using Cloudflare nameservers. But I don’t have enough information to locate who exactly is hosting their site. You may want to contact Cloudflare for help with this further.
