Suspended Redirect Not Suspended?
-
I paid for the upgrade to redirect my wordpress.com site to my own server, and the redirect worked fine. However, I decided to suspend the redirect for a few days to give people a chance to read a last post telling them to update Google Reader, etc. So in the Domains section, I changed the primary domain back to digitaldailydose.wordpress.com. Below this section it now says “Redirection is currently disabled.”
However, it is still redirecting to laurashoe.com.
Am I missing something here?
Thank you.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Google reader will still draw the rss just fine even if people don’t change the url — it will just pick up the redirect. Same with any other rss feeds or email subscriptions. No need to change back to the wordpress.com domain even temporarily.

Thank you for answering mmadfan. I use Google Reader, and it isn’t working for me. Since I am posting on the new site rather than the old, GR doesn’t detect any new posts.
I suppose I could post on both sites… but with images and all, that would be a pain.

Wow, I am really spacing today, actually confusing my posts. mmadfan, I see how GR and others will pick up my “my site has moved” post even with the redirect, because I in fact posted it on the old site….so this at least gives people a heads up. But are you saying that GR will continue to automatically pick up posts from the new site? This in fact it doesn’t.

I thought that you actually had a redirect. If you had a redirect, it should work. But if you just have a post that says the site has moved, that’s not the same as redirecting. You moved your blog without a redirect, so no, it won’t continue to work.
