Suspicious followers?

  Since Tuesday, 10 people have begun to follow my blog. This is very unusual and I do not recognize any of the addresses, leading me to believe that something suspicious is going on. Can you help? Thank you.

  HI there,

  Please note that people who follow your blog do so in order to receive notifications when you post new content. They have no access to your site and no one else can see that they follow you. It’s likely that people are finding the content you’re posting through the WordPress.com Reader or elsewhere and liking what they see.

  If it bothers you to receive a notification each time someone follows you, you can disable the “someone follows my blog” notifications under Settings > Discussion from your site’s dashboard.

  Thank you Jackiedana. I know why people follow a blog, but there had never been so many in such a short period of time. As long as they have no access to the blog, then I’m okay with that.
