Suspicious Username

I just created an account and when I logged in for the first time; it has a very long and odd username attached to my account/profile. Is this automatically created by WordPress initially? I only signed up with my email; just looks suspicious.

If you didn’t specify a username during signup, our system automatically created one for you.
I see you’ve already changed that, and you’ve set a public display name for your account.
The public display name you can change as often as you want, and to whatever you want – it can even include emoji – and is how your name will appear when you author a post or comment.
The username is your unique identifier, and how your name will appear in the dashboard, and here in the forums. You can also change it as often as you want, but usernames can only contain letters and numbers, and username changes cannot be reversed – once you switch away from a particular username, the old username is deleted and permanently disable so it cannot be re-used by anyone, including you.
