Hello @ppstaking,
If you mean if you can change the URL structure from This “https://ppstaking.com/2010/03/23/professional-poker-staking/” to something like this “https://ppstaking.com/professional-poker-staking”
Unfortunately WordPress.com does not support changing Permalinks. There is a plugin that can be used but only on the Business paid plan.
Regarding the “Read More” text, I’ve added an idea to your existing thread here, basically using an image background with the text you want.

have you tried making that Post a Page? That could get you the URL you need!

Yes. I’ve been told I can’t change permalinks without business or plugins (which require business).

I have already made identical pages to the posts.
I realise now that I can make a static page and pretty much imitate the theme front page using CSS. I’ve learnt quite a lot about CSS in the hours since I posted this and I feel more capable of doing it now.
BUT that will take time, and if it’s possible to change the ‘read more’ links to pages of my choosing instead of posts(as per the theme), it will save me a lot of time.
I am still wondering if that is a possibility. -
Hi there,
…and if it’s possible to change the ‘read more’ links to pages of my choosing instead of posts(as per the theme), it will save me a lot of time.
That will not be possible, even with the Business plan upgrade.

Ok. Looks like my next project will be trying to immitate the themes blog page with a static CSS page. Sorry in advance for the forum spamming when I try that.

No worries. If you aren’t aware of it already, have a look at the Display Posts Shortcode support page. The styling is more on the simple side since it is designed to work pretty much with any static page and doesn’t have theme-specific styling.
