Swell Theme – Possible to have to portfolio pages?

  Hi all,

  I’m a videographer and photographer and am using the swell theme. I’m hoping to have both a ‘video’ and ‘photo’ page that both function as portfolios, one with only video samples and the other only photographs. Is this possible to set up, and if so, how?

  If you’re hoping to use your WordPress.com site to show off your portfolio separate from your blog posts and pages, the Portfolio content type will let you manage all your portfolio projects in one place. It also gives you a number of different ways to display them on your site.

  To keep all the photographs and videos separate, you can use categories and use the category link in your menu.

  Hi Bobby,

  The portfolio content type can be enabled in My Sites > Settings > Writing > Content Types and there are setup instructions in the “Setting Up Your Portfolio” section of theme documentation:

  https://wordpress.com/theme/swell/setup

  This would provide the option to create individual portfolio projects which can be grouped in separate project types — video and photography.

  Links to “Video” and “Photography” could then be added to the site menu. You can see an example of the page layout on the Swell demo site:

  https://swelldemo.wordpress.com/project-type/motion/
