Swf within Portfolio
-
Hello! I love WordPress system. I even moved from Blogger down to WP. But, my blog is my portfolio (atilavelo.wordpress.com) and a big part of my jobs are banners in .swf format (Flash).
Is there any alternative? Anyone has a suggestion of how I could insert those jobs within my portfolio? That is VERY important to me…
Thanks in advance!

Apparently not: http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/10/23/can-i-add-flash-video-embed-other-media/
Maybe you could do static images of your work with a link to another site that hosts your Flash files: http://box.net/

Hmmm… it seems that’s the only way. That’s not going to look good, because there’s no way to configure links to open pop-ups correctly (javascript) and also there will be Box.net’s or Imageshack’s visual in this external page.
Anyway, thanks Beemeister!

What if you got a self-hosted WordPress blog and set up pages with your flash examples and set that blog to be “no index” by Search Engines.
Then, theme it the pages the same as your WordPress.com blog. You can then link to the self-hosted blog and have your portfolio with live flash. You can get hosting for something like $4.99 a month, with a domain name for $6.99 a year.

Yeah… to use the WordPress.org system in my own hosting service, with domain and stuff is the perfect solution. I’m still using WP.com because until the end of this year I won’t have time to work on it…
But you described my objective! :)
