Switch emails on my site

    I was testing something out with themes, and my end goal is to switch my current site from (email visible only to moderators and staff) to (email visible only to moderators and staff), but it won’t let me because it says this account is open. Your page says ‘if you delete the account, you can’t open a new one for 30 days. How to I transfer my site into (email visible only to moderators and staff)

    It looks like there is a WordPress.com account using the email address: (email visible only to moderators and staff).

    To free up this email address, you would need to login to that account, or set a password reset for that account (https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword) and then change the email address for that account.

    You could then use this address for this account here.

    I found in the help pages that I can transfer the site here. But when I hover over it. nothing happens

    When I login to my violetcrowhealing gmail account and try to do this I follow, click on icon. Choose manage blogs, and there’s zero blogs under that email address.

    I’m stuck.

    • Which site are you trying to transfer?
    • What username do you want to transfer it to?

    From what I can see, it looks like you may be working with a Jetpack site, in which case you’d use these tips instead:

    But, I can also see it seems to have the correct owner right now, so can you clarify what you’re hoping to do?

    I am trying to transfer TheVioletCrow.com

    from (email visible only to moderators and staff). (my personal email address)

    to (email visible only to moderators and staff) (my business email)

    So that I can keep all the related emails regarding updates and payments and whatnot in the correct place, related to the website.

    I think it will help if we clarify that you do have accounts open on WordPress.com, but those are not at all related to billing you have on thevioletcrow.com. Instead you are running a plugin on your site (called ‘Jetpack’) and that plugin requires a free WordPress.com account so that you are able to connect to our cloud services.

    We don’t manage billing for your site with GoDaddy. If you wish to change any billing details about your site (for hosting and/or domain registration) you will want to contact GoDaddy directly for assistance with that.

    I follow to the next step

    and click “change email” takes me here

    then it says that email is already being used

    so then i logout of violetcrowhealing email

    login to zia@thevioletcrow email to delete the account and get this

    So I’m lost and don’t know what to do.

    Thanks for clarifying. We don’t have insight into WooCommerce billing on our end, which may explain why we were having trouble understanding your situation. Thanks for your persistence to this point.

    OK so to summarize, it appears you have to WordPress.com accounts. The one that you use to connect Jetpack to thevioletcrow.com (@violetcrowhealing) and then this account (@thevioletcrow) which is one that I think you created when you made your purchase with WooCommerce.

    The good news (after chatting with WooCommerce staff) is that you can transfer the extension from one email to another yourself by following the steps here. https://woocommerce.com/document/managing-woocommerce-com-subscriptions/#transfer-a-woocommerce-com-subscription

    If they’re still having trouble, we’re at the limit of how we can help here but you can open a support ticket with WooCommerce directly and they can help you to get things sorted out:

    Once you’ve transferred the extension to your other email address, you can safely close this account, and it will not affect thevioletcrow.com.
