switch from blog style to website style
-
Hi Everyone,
I am NOT good with computer type things at all, so please respond in what might seem ridiculously simplified terms.
I have never used this site I created because I somehow made it a Blog style and what I wanted was the basic website that I can show pics of my artwork and my contact info, period, no blogging. Since rules said I may not delete my blog and re-apply, is there a way to SWITCH and not lose my name as it has been my business name since 2007?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There is no “switch” from blog style to website style. They are both built into wordpress.
To have a standard paged website here, the first thing you will want to do is to create and publish a static front page for your site. Once published, go to settings > reading and click “A static page and then from the “front page” pulldown select your newly created front page and then save. Do not select a “blog” page. Just leave that selection as it is.
Now you can commence with creating your website. Just create pages as required rather than posts.
If you are going to want arrange your pages in a structure with sub pages, that can be done using the custom menu widget and by creating a custom menu where you can create dropdown menus and such. With the theme you are using, it does not have top navigation, so you will use the custom menu widget.

Hi There! you will need to delete all blog entry’s found under Category “Posts via your dashboard then follow these instructions from this link http://wp.me/PEmnE-ro then any time you want a new page just click create new page….
Edit: I recommend reading up on TSP’s link’s as well and I also recommend following his sound advice

Thank You both. I will give it a try, although I do not know how to “establish and publish a static front page” exactly and it seems it is step one?

Search Support for “set a static page” yields this as the top result.
The support documents are your friend they have done a good job here. Check them out. One bad thing about WordPress software is that it is so easy to use that many people skip the Support documents

If you don’t want a blog at all, then just don’t create or choose a “posts” page. If at a later date you want to include a blog as part of your site, you can add it then.

Not faster – I must have started a bit earlier – I still need to take a new typing and spelling class – our answers and links agree so maybe that will give them a more secure feeling about the advice?

However doing a few Posts will help with the search engines as WordPress calls up the search engines when a Post is published but not for Pages.
