Switch from netwisp to wordpress
-
I am building a wordpress site for someone. I have built a bunch from scratch before but wanted advice for this one as it was hosted elsewhere before. The URL is hosted on Hover and the site was built through netwisp. Whats the easiest way to transfer the domain? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Are you going to put them on a WordPress.com hosted blog, or a blog hosted elsewhere? We need the URL of the underlying WP.com blog before we can help.

I havent given them a wordpress account yet. I was thinking of leaving it hosted at hover and then redirected it to whatever I create at word press. Does that work? I am looking for best practice suggestions. thanks!

The best practices depend on where the blog is going to be hosted. For now, I’ll direct you to WordPress.ORG, which is where independently-hosted blogs get support.

If you want to move it to WordPress.com the instructions are under Import in the Support docs. http://support.wordpress.com/ If you want to move it to a different host, the instructions are at WordPress.ORG.
