Switch from Website to Blog set-up?

  If I initially set up my WP.com website as Start with a Website (i.e. static homepage) but then wish to change it to a Blog (i.e. home page displays latest post) – how do I do that? I’ve tried changing home page in the primary menu but doesn’t seem to work.

  Hi,

  WordPress.com allows you to switch from one to the other (or even have both at the same time) directly from your site dashboard:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/do-i-need-a-website-a-blog-or-a-website-with-a-blog/.

  In short, you will need to do 2 things:

  1. Create Blog Posts (instead of Pages): https://cl.ly/1M1b0g1l0s2Y

  2. In the Customize menu, in Homepage Settings, choose Your latest posts instead of A static page

  And you should be good. :)

  Thanks flavbob. Yes, I did this but it didn’t work straightaway. Although some time later (after I’d posted the question to this forum!) it did work. So I’m not sure what the initial issue was.

  Ah, I think I’ve seen a delay before, yes. I’m not sure why either, but in any case I’m glad it worked in the end. :)
