Switch From WordPress Domain to My Domain

  Hello,
  I have a blog with over 100 posts under mydomain.wordpress.com, and I would like to move it to the domain I just purchased, which is mydomain.com

  How do I do this? I obviously do not want to copy over 8 months worth of posts seperately.

  Go to ‘Settings’ then ‘Domains’ then click on the circle box on the blog you bought.Then click ‘Update Primary Blog’

  @michro01, you will need to point your new domain at the wordpress.COM servers and then purchase the domain mapping upgrade.

  What I meant was… I bought my own domain, on my own server, and want to move my old blog from mydomain.wordpress.com to my own server now. I don’t want to redirect, or change my nameservers to wordpress.com. Is the info above still correct?

  Dashboard => Tools => Export (wxr)
  and see the instruction given here.

  No, you want to export from the wp.com blog and import at the new one.
