  Can I switch from wordpress.com to wordpress.org once I’ve already start to blog?

  I also want to change the domain name so I was wondering is it better for me start
  straight away with wordpress.org?

  You can switch to .org easily at any point with your domain name or not, so it’s up to you :)

  Although you can easily switch form wordpress.com to wordpress.org it’s important to understand that the root blog at wordpress.com “owns” all of the authority and backlinks and PageRank it achieves. When you change the URL by purchasing domain mapping all of what has been earned by the root blog is gone and the new domain starts from 0 authority, 0 backlinnks and 0 PageRank. This is why it’s in your best interest to purchase a domain and domain mapping as early as possible.
