switch my site from self-hosted wp to .com wp
-
I no longer want http://www.anotherchanceokanagan.com as a self-hosted site. I’ve moved the files (though at this point the original site is still up) to “anotherchanceokanagan.wordpress.com” — but I want to rename the new site with the old domain name (without “wordpress” in it). My annual payment renewal for the old site is coming up, and of course I want to close that — I have it hosted under Bluehost — and just want to make the $18 annual payment for the new site. How do I cancel the old registration, and make sure that my new site has the same domain name?

Your best bet is to not cancel your existing registration and instead just use Domain Mapping to point your domain to your WordPress.com site.

Canceling a domain registration is a risky move that can easily result in your losing control over the domain and not ever being able to regain it.
