Switch to Classic Editor

Hi. I used to have a WordPress act, which used the Classic Editor. How do I switch to Classic on my new account & blog? I absolutely hate the new editor, as it is horribly complicated for non-tech people. Please feel free to go into my act & switch me over. I can’t customize due to complexity. The tutorials DO Not help, as I can’t figure out those either. So miss the old WordPress!

I concur. Functionality like the ability to choose a past blog post from a drop-down list for linking purposes does not exist in the new editor.

The new editor automatically adds formatting that I do not want, as well.

New blog posts are now defaulting to the new editor and when you try to open them up in the classic editor you get pop-up notices exhorting you to open them in the new editor. This inhibits my ability to post.

There does not appear to be a way to set the classic editor as a default. Please add such an option, so that users like bellaplakon and I can continue to use the classic editor until the new editor has the same features as the classic one.

  • Hi Folks –

We can definitely help you get the site back to using the classic editor. Please let me know which sites are involved. Thanks :)
