switch to classic mode
-
Welcome to an easier way –so not true!
to create on WordPress.com! –“creating” on WP is more difficult now.
Missing the old editor? –yes! yes! make it my default, please
No worries –if only that were true! increasingly worrisome…
just switch –workaround does not work as WP says it will!
to classic mode. –ah, classic mode! allow this as default editor!
Despite suggestions and instructions on how to create a new post and/or edit an old post by “just switching” back to the now-classic editor — in other words, permanently opting out of using the poorly functioning beep-beep-boop upstart — the NewEditor replaces the OldEditor every time. This has nothing to do with whether or not my cashe or cookies have been cleared and occurs continuously. Please return the classic mode of editing as a viable, functioning option and default for those who of us who use it and continue to choose it.

Please, please, please, I want Classic mode, nothing else, not having to click the BlooBlooBloo.Blablabla.Blop each day I write into my blog.
Please switch it off permanently or at least place an option into the Dashboard settings.
Come on, please!

So agree with above. Now I try to update a blog and it just tells me it’s updating for ever … It used to take 10 seconds … Now it’s driving me mad with ‘beep beep boop’ but not doing anything at all. I can leave it for hours and nothing happens. I used to have the choice to revert to the old system, Classic, but now can’t. Please can you switch me back? In fact, I saved, or tried to save, a draft post yesterday and it hasn’t done it. This has been a horrible waste of time. It may be because my PC is only operating an old browser. But that’s all it can handle. I looked at another person’s response saying ‘you can click on the “classic mode” link in the banner in the upper right of the new editor’, but I don’t have this on my screen.

I’m not a casual blogger, and I use wordpress to power my site where I typically get a thousand views a day. This interface is the primary vehicle I use.
This beep bop boo nonsense is definitely off putting, and incompatible with me culturally and does not get me in the mode to be serious about my endeavor.
The new interface is aesthetically disgusting, and I can’t imagine why it’s been changed.
This aside, it is so far nerfed that the features I need and want are invisible to me. There were certainly some things that could have been improved in the editor, but what was been done is a step back. Also often spacing and things involving the difference between direct text and HTML spacing gets destroyed, paragraphs pushed together, etc.
Can I just have the old editor back without ‘saving and changing’, and taking frustrating moments to ‘reload’?
I will simply let go of wordpress and find a better editor, since I own my own domain name and can take it elsewhere.
I really wonder what goes on in the heads of these people. There are many qualified people who can handle this, and unemployment is very high world-wide.
If I wanted my editor to feel like instagram, that’s where I’d publish!
-
Yes, it does seem to be part of a general dumbing down. I appreciate that it might seem like streamlining and perhaps makes things simpler for the casual blogger who wants to post short pieces on their smartphone. But it’s giving me a real headache.
PS I also preferred the old way of sizing pictures – selecting a size, then reducing it percentage wise until it was exactly right.

@wordpress sadness engineers
Will you please, please, please turn that beep, beep, boop junk editor turn off from my blog for good and forever. It is just annoying.
-
In the last week or so, the “option” for the “classic editor” has moved from the upper right-hand corner of the “beep beep boop screen” to the lower right-hand corner, making it less visible and accessible for those who continuously choose to use. WP, the choice to use the classic editor needs to be and remain a “default option” for those of us who use it. Please hear us — and restore to default the former functioning editor. [Just ran a spellcheck on this post, which highlighted “beep beep boop.” There’s another clue for you, UNhappiness engineers. We want it real.]
-
Maybe, it should say pee, pee, pooh and we just got the intensions of the unhappiness engineers all wrong. To me it would do, if the dashboard writing settings contained an option to keep it turned off.

Is there a simple method to import all my WP stuff into another blog ?
This ‘new’ editor pisses me of, since a long time I planned to post something and now I experience a major problem.
Is this the way to tread your users ?
-
Please remove beep beep boobs permanently from my blogs. I have no use for this nuisance.
-
I’m managing to use the old editor but only by jumping through hoops. I wish I could just be switched back to it for good. At least the hoop-jumping eliminates the beeps and boops.
-
Please remove permanently beep boobs from my blogs. It is annyoing, a waste of time, childish.
-
I am in agreement. I’d love it if the classic editor became the default editor again, but I need to know, is there seriously no way to switch directly from the BeepBeepBoop editor to my dashboard? It’s frustrating to have to re-enter my dashboard every time I’m done editing a post.
-
Agreed with all of y’all. The BeepBeepBoop thing is a major fail. But I am afraid that we will be stuck with it forever, as WP seems to have bet the farm on this abomination and will not back down. If we continue to push, we may be able to get a setting to permanently disable it… but I am afraid that new users won’t know the difference, and will be totally lost.
-
As a daily blogger, I continue speak up in hopes that WP may hear us and at least offer the Classic Editor as an easy, default option for users who do not welcome added steps of beep-beep-booping their way to clean and functional editing. WP, please offer the choice to go directly to Classic Editing without having to click through beep-beep-boop bubbles every time we clean our caches. Make the Classic Editor my continuous default.
-
-
Please allow at least the option to make classic mode the default. I also detest the limited beep boop editing page. I want my proper dashbaord to come up on login.
-
Am I the only one who seems to be enjoying this new version? Well here’s the reason. I just joined recently and its only the new one which I’ve known. Didn’t know there was another classic one which was faster :-)
-
I am tired of sagging double boobs. They are really not the sexy kind of thing and they distract from the real purpose of my blogging: Getting text out quick, straight, no worry. Please set classic mode html editor as default for my blogs.
