Switch to Linux

  Having transferred to a new pc, now running linux whilst previously Win10, I find that my attempts to add media to posts are denied, as is the ability to link to facebook.

  I’m assuming this might need a change of permissions somewhere, but can it be explained in words of one syllable?

  Hi –

  You should be able to use your WordPress.com dashboard as you did before on Windows.

  Have you tried using a different browser?

  Thanks, it did seem strange. The facebook link has now gone through, but uploading media brings the following message:

  Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons.

  I may have to try saving pictures in a format other than the path directed by linux.

  Looks like saving pictures as png files rather than xcf files may be the way to go – learn something new every day…

  Hi – Yeah, that’s right. Because of our shared environment there are restrictions on what file types can be uploaded.
