I want to self host my wordpress site, but had already upgraded my domain name. Can I use a self hosting 3rd party and still keep my current blog domain? (samsmileymusic.com)

Yes. If you’ve registered your domain through WordPress.com and now want it to point to a blog or website hosted elsewhere then you can do this by updating the nameservers. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/#update-nameservers

How would I buy the domain on another hosting site if I already own it with WordPress? I want to keep the domain name. Sorry, I just don’t quite understand how that all works. thanks so much
