switched to Mac, edits are not working… hard returns don’t stay

  I have just switched over to my new Mac. Now when I edit my pages & blog posts, any space is automatically deleted upon save. Both in preview mode and code mode, if i put in a hard return between paragraphs, and then save, the returns are gone and I am left with one ugly block of text with no white space. Any help on this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. ~Aeron

  The online editor wordpress uses is not fully compatible with Safari.

  I would suggest downloading the Firefox or Camino or Flock browsers as they are the most compatible with wordpress.

  Flock: http://www.flock.com/

  Alternately, you can go to “my profile” in the upper right of your dashboard and uncheck “use visual rich text editor,” click “update profile and then you will be doing all your writing in code view. Some, including myself, find this a little confusing since in addition to the text of your post, you will see all the html code for your formatting.

  Hmmmm…..perhaps the easiest thing to do is find a Safari-compatible blogsite…..? Not to be flip, just trying to find a solution that will work best for me.

  You can do that. You can also set your wordpress.com blog to private and grant access only to people you are sure are using Safari.

  Like it or not, the majority is using IE.

  A. IE hasn’t even been made for Apple in YEARS – so its not even an option.

  B. I too have had this problem. I created my blog on a mac using safari, then at another computer, which was a PC and using Firefox, I wrote a post. It still posted as one giant blob of text w/o hard returns. What’s with that?

  I was able to successfully edit it using Firefox on my Mac.

  I have used Mozilla’s SeaMonkey for a long time and am quite happy with it.
