  Hi there,

  Currently I have a website with mono solutions and yellow pages however they are no longer meeting my business needs. I would like to switch to word press but keep my website domain name. Is this possible? Also am I able to create a website on a dummy host/domain so that my original website can stay the same until I am ready to go live with WordPress

  We’ll give you a free subdomain to build your site under, you won’t need to add the custom domain until you’re ready.

  And, for that, we have two options:

  Mapping allows you to keep the domain registered with your current domain registrar and direct it to your WordPress.com site: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/

  A transfer would allow to manage both your site and domain from the same place: https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/
