Switching administrator and editor
-
I’m an author, writing under my own name and a pseudonym. When I set up my blog I made my pseudonym the administrator, and my real name an editor. I’d like to reverse that but it looks as if that changes the address. Is that true?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Let’s see if I can explain this to you. The username of the blog owner is the original administrator. In order to have an editor with your real name you would have had to invite the “real name” user as a contributor. The “real name” user would have to be associated with a separate account, and different email address than those of the original blog owner/administrator.
The original administrator can make the “real name” user an administrator, but can not (as far as I know) reduce his or her own user role below administrator. In order for the “switch” of roles you have in mind to take place, I believe you would have to transfer the account to the “real name” user, thereby making that user the owner/adminstrator. See the Transferring Your Blog to Another WordPress.com Account support page.

Alternatively, just make the “real name” user an administrator, and have two administrators.

Thanks, “musicdoc1”. I went ahead and made us both administrators. Really is the simplest solution. Thanks again!
