Switching back to block (Gutenberg) editor after it is disabled?

I have a free version of WordPress.com right now. I switched back to ‘classic editor’ while editing a page, and now I cannot see how to enable the block editor format again.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

If you create a new post at My Site ->Site ->Posts ->Add New, you should see a notice to try out the new editing experience in the post settings sidebar on the right. Click that to re-enable the block editor.

If you don’t see the sidebar at all, click the gear icon at the top of the screen.

Thank you for the reply! I have see some pop up notifications offering to use the new editor when re-launching a page in editing mode. It is not consistent, however. It would be helpful if there were a consistent option to toggle between editors.

I prefer the classic editor in general, as there seems to be more control over things, but hopefully I’ll get used to the new block style.

Anyway, I think this problem is resolved/de-prioritized for now. Thank you!
