Switching Back to the Classic Editor
-
I have a ‘WordPress.com’ website and I have inadvertently switched to the Gutenberg Editor by mistake. The new Gutenberg editor does not give me the option to switch back.
Please help me switch back. Thank you!

Good Morning –
I have set the classic editor as your default for both sites on the account. Sign out, then back in to WordPress.com and you should see the classic editor option again when working on the content.
Write back if more help is needed.

Can you switch me back to the classic WP editor? I’m not even sure how it is using the new editor but it keeps switching back and forth and I want the old editor. Also, the editor option is not available under the Appearance menu…is there a reason for this? I’m just trying to put together a quick portfolio site in a premium account and none of the tutorials work the way they are showing and I am frustrated. I’ve used the old editor for over 10 years and I am completely at a loss.

Hi @bbscannon5b27036e13,
If your site is using one of the business themes, it will not work with the classic editor. You will need to switch to an older theme if you want to have the option to switch to the classic editor. Then, you see the three dot menu appear to change editors. You are using the Argent theme, so you should not have this issue.
I see that you were able to switch your editor back to classic. Great! Let us know if you have any other questions or issues.
Thanks,
