Switching between test server and live site

I have a live site:
aaa.netOn a different part of my hosted server, I have a test site:
bbb.comI am using DirectAdmin.
I now want to activate bbb.com because my test site is ready. It’s URL and all the database etc should change to aaa.net.
My current live site aaa.net should become the new test site or a backup for if the change to bbb.com fails.
In the end I can test plugins and when it works I switch back again to that working site. So I have always a back up/test site and a live site.
How to do this?
