Switching blog addresses between two blogs that I both own
-
Hi,
Two of the sites that I own are (https://tofustirfry.wordpress.com/) and (https://aloudcourage.wordpress.com/)
I want to switch their addresses. In other words, I want (https://tofustirfry.wordpress.com/)’s address to be changed to (https://aloudcourage.wordpress.com/), and I want (https://aloudcourage.wordpress.com/)’s address to be changed to (https://tofustirfry.wordpress.com/).
How can I make this switch happen? When I go to change the address it says that “this address is already in use”, but I own the other address that I’m trying to change it to! So how do I switch the addresses of two blogs that I both own?
Thank you very much.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi, so you want to move content from tofustirfry to aloudcourage, and from aloudcourage to tofustirfry?
The change address tool is meant to create new addresses rather than change content for existing sites.
We don’t have any easy tools for switching content between two sites. Please realize if you switch the content between the two sites, you’ll break any existing links to either site and probably damage any SEO ranking you have. On top of that, it would be quite a bit of work. We would not recommend doing this.
If you still want to proceed, you could create exports for both sites, delete the posts for both sites (but not the media libraries), and then import the posts from one site to the other.
You’ll need to be careful with media items: make sure they import properly to the new sites before deleting just those items from each old site.

I don’t want to move the content at all. There is actually currently no content on either site. What I want to do is I want to switch their addresses. In other words, I want (https://tofustirfry.wordpress.com/)’s address to be changed to (https://aloudcourage.wordpress.com/), and I want (https://aloudcourage.wordpress.com/)’s address to be changed to (https://tofustirfry.wordpress.com/).

Hmm, well, we can’t simply switch addresses.
But help me understand what you would hope to accomplish by doing that and we’ll try to help.

The reason that I want to switch (https://tofustirfry.wordpress.com/)’s address to (https://aloudcourage.wordpress.com/), and (https://aloudcourage.wordpress.com/)’s address to (https://tofustirfry.wordpress.com/) is because when I first created (https://tofustirfry.wordpress.com/), I had taken the time to painstakingly enter specific settings, and I don’t want to go through all the tedious, time-consuming trouble of having to go through and put in all those specific settings again in (https://aloudcourage.wordpress.com/), especially since (https://aloudcourage.wordpress.com/) is the site that I’m going to be using, and not (https://tofustirfry.wordpress.com/).
Thus, if (https://tofustirfry.wordpress.com/)’s address were changed to (https://aloudcourage.wordpress.com/), it would save me all that time and effort of manually having to go through and enter all the same settings into the aloudcourage site.
Due to the reasons and explanation given above, could you please change the address of (https://tofustirfry.wordpress.com/) to (https://aloudcourage.wordpress.com/)?

We don’t have a simple way to copy settings, nor do we have a tool for swapping site addresses. I’ll file a note though about a tool for copying settings, though, as an idea for some future feature.
And we’ll help here if we can, so to clarify, do you mean the theme settings, header, color scheme, etc, or some other settings?
