Switching domain hosting from godaddy to wordpress

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi – I let godaddy expire because I’d rather use WordPress, and have paid for my domain name of elizabethrsmyth.com through wordpress. However, my site still points to godaddy and I can’t figure out how to update the DNS to point to wordpress. Please help – thanks!

Looks like your domain is not pointing to WordPress.com name servers yet. Please go to your domain registrar’s site and log into the control panel. You will need to update the name servers as below:

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

For more information, please visit the help documentation provided by the registrar and our support page:

I would like WordPress to be my domain registrar, so that I can cut out dodaddy completely. Is that possible? Thanks!

I’m sorry, we currently don’t take incoming domain transfers. If you want to register a new domain instead, go to Store > Domains on your blog’s dashboard and follow the steps there.

Please take a look at the following guide before going through the process.
