Switching Existing Website to WordPress

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi there, I am the company owner of a website hosted elsewhere who is considering moving to WordPress due to the seemingly more fluid and modern templates suitable for my business and hopefully a more supportive customer service staff who can assist me with developing a more interactive and fun website.

I’d like some advice about possibly switching to WordPress, the benefits compared to my host now and what I should expect from WordPress if I were to bring my business to them.

And basically everything I need to know in terms of payments etc to ensure if I transition that I have no break in my site being online! NEEDS to be seamless.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

    Hi-

I think it really depends on what you are using now and what is and isn’t working for you. Personally, I have been using WordPress (both the open source WordPress.org version and recently the WordPress.com version) for a combination of over 12 years now and I wouldn’t use anything else.

This forum is specifically for WordPress.com so here are some links related to WordPress.com that you may find helpful:

    Features: https://wordpress.com/features/

    Plans and Pricing: https://wordpress.com/pricing/

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org: https://wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    I hope this helps.

  • Thanks for that, @eight84.
