switching from .com to .org

  I would like to switch my blog over to wordpress.org. I have been told that doing it with help from WordPress’ team is the ideal way to do it. I am ready to pursue sponsored posts and other money-making blog opportunities, so need to adapt to the right blog format. I use .org for my websites, so am familiar. Just need to make the switch as easily as possible. And wondering if the switch will require a blog redesign (the original one did not work out due to tech issues, so put this one together rather than waste time waiting for a fix).
