Switching from .com to .org question

  I’d like to switch to a .org WP blog. My understanding is you have to host the blog on your own domain website, which is fine. My question is, do I have to start my blog all over from scratch or can I import my .com blog into the new .org site?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  If you go to Tools > Export in your WordPress.com blog and save that file, then follow the instructions here at your new WordPress.org powered blog:

  http://codex.wordpress.org/Importing_Content#WordPress you should be good to go :)
