Switching from free WordPress to paid hosting through HostGator

  • Unknown's avatar

I started my business website using the free wordpress.com, and just now I paid for hosting through HostGator and installed WordPress. I don’t want to transfer what I have worked on so to the hosted site. Can I delete my free account, or will that mess up things going forward with the paid hosting. The email address and domain being used is the same ones I used to set up the free account.

Thank you so much for your assistance!

    Lauren

    hi,

I see that you have deleted your site already.
It won’t interfere with your Hostgator arrangement.

Let us know if you have more questions.

  • Hi there,

Since your WordPress.com account is not connected to your new site it’s safe to delete it by following these instructions:

    Close Your Account

You can, however, leave it inactive in case you want to use again sometime in the future.
