switching from one domain to another domain

  I have found another domain name that describes our group a little better than the one I am currently using. What is the most logical and cost effective way to switch from one domain to a new one? Should I add the new domain and then slowly move traffic to the new one and then eventually drop the old one? We don’t get that much traffic on our current site.
  I will have to have new business cards made up that print the new name.

  i think that the domain name you bought is not refundable
  what i would do is : do not modify to the current domain name, and let it redirect the visitor to your blog until the year you paid for ends. And create a new one. I dont really know if wordpress allows you to create a new domain name without canceling the former one ; just try and if it does not there are other solutions.
