Switching from paid to unpaid blog

  • Unknown's avatar

Hey there. So a year ago I paid (using siteground) to take my blog to the paid version of WordPress. It’s been a year and I no longer wish to pay for this service. Renewal is coming up for the domain name and all that, so I need to cancel it, but before I do so I’m wondering I can transfer all my posts to a free version of WordPress. I can’t seem to find support anywhere that answers if this is possible or if I’m just going to lose it all? Anyone have suggestions or answers for me?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hello,

There is a number of differences and limitations of the WordPress.com free plan in comparison to self-hosted WordPress, but you can move the Posts between the sites.
All you need to do is to export them on the Siteground version of your site and import them on the WordPress.com blog.

You can find the instructions on how to do that here:

    I hope this helps.
