Switching from self hosted wordpress to wordpress.com
-
I’m trying to figure out how to do the switch. I’m currently hosting my wordpress.org site with bluehost and want to switch back to wordpress.com .
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Thank you. I saw it but I’m still confused. My blog started in wordpress.com , so it’s still there apparently. So when I follow the instructions to export and import I end up in the same admin page whether I try to access the .org or .com one, they seem to be connected. Could I just move the domain to wordpress and cancel my hosting in bluehost? will the hosting automatically become wordpress.com?

When I click import it asks me to login and that logs me into my self hosted wordpress admin. I can’t get to the place that looks like the import screen in the screenshot of the guide.

Moving the domain doesn’t move the content. Can you log in to your Bluehost site and create an export file. If you haven’t already you need to create a site here at WordPress.com to import the content into. Perhaps a free site with any address to begin with. When you’re sure all content/images are in the WordPress.com site then if you wish to keep your domain address you’d need to upgrade the WordPress.com site to a paid plan to be able to transfer the domain.
