Switching from text to visual strips my attributes

    I want to start a list from a different number than 1, so I write
    <ol start="6">

    If I click preview while still in text mode it shows the list in the post exactly as I want it, starting with the number 6.

    However, if I switch to Visual mode, the whole thing starting from

      and ending with

    gets deleted.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Correction:

    However, if I switch to Visual mode, the whole thing starting from <ol> and ending with </ol> gets deleted.

  • Hi there. First, are you using the new Beep Beep Boop editor or the classic one? I want to recall the new editor has had problems like this in the past, so rather try the classic editor (WP-Admin dashboard ->Posts ->All Posts ->Edit/Add New)

    Second, while in the text editor, make sure you save your draft before switching back to the visual editor. Sometimes when switching editors without saving some code gets stripped again.

    If it still won’t work, let us know. Also provide a link to the draft post: copy the link in your browser’s address bar when you’re editing the post. Only staff will be able to access that link, so it’s safe to do so.

    I was using the classic editor, but you are right, once I saved the draft before switching to visual editor the code remained as I wished.

    I can’t tell you how much you helped me!

  • I’m very glad to hear that. Happy blogging :)
