Switching from Westhost to have WordPress host existing site

  I have a site on WP: http://reverbnovel.wordpress.com/

  I have a site on Westhost: http://reverbnovel.com

  I want to CLOSE MY WESTHOST ACCOUNT and transfer my URL: http://reverbnovel.com to my reverbnovel.wordpress.com account. Please tell me how to do that without being offline as http://www.reverbnovel.com [any length of time]. I want to keep my existing site on WordPress AS IS. I just want to change the url to http://reverbnovel.com.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  Please note that if you point your domain: reverbnovel.com to your WordPress.com site, it will no longer point to Westhote site.

  If you want the domain: reverbnovel.com to point to your WordPress.com site instead of your WP self-hosted site, then please set your nameserver to ours:

  • NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
  • NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
  • NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

  Then purchase the Domain Mapping upgrade in the Dashboard of reverbnovel.wordpress.com by going to Store > My Domains. Then you should be set!

  This will keep your WordPress.com site as is, just change the domain to reverbnovel.com.

  I can not purchase the domain: reverbnovel.com as Westhost has it. How do I get if OFF Westhost and change the WordPress domain: reverbnovel.wordpress.com to just reverbnovel.com when Westhost holds the reverbnovel url?

  Hi there,

  While the domain is hosting with Westhost, your actual registrar is eNom as seen here:

  http://who.wildwestdomains.com/whoisstd.aspx?domain=reverbnovel.com&prog_id=wildwestdomains

  Please contact eNom support and ask them to change the nameservers from Westhost to WordPress.com nameservers:

  • NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
  • NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
  • NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

  Then once this is done, purchase the domain mapping upgrade in Store of your Dashboard. This will then point the domain: reverbnovel.com to your WordPress.com site.

  This is essentially how you “get it OFF” Westhost and change it to point to us. Again, you can find more information here:
