Switching from WordPress.com to WordPress.org

  I need to switch from wordpress.com to wordpress.org. I bought my domain, sarahswainphotography.com, THROUGH WordPress.com, so I’m not sure how to switch without having to pay a lot of money for a new host to transfer my domain too. Any advice?

  You can point the domain you registered at WordPress.com to another server (hosting service), with these steps:

  Change a Domain’s Name Servers

  You’ll need to obtain the name server values from your current host. You should be able to find them on their support documentation, or contact them and ask for the information. (Name servers may be referred as “nameservers” or “NS records” instead.)
