Switching from wp.com to wp.org?

Hey Fellow Forum users,
I was considering switching from wordpress.com to wordpress.org, I have switched my domain over to a private host instead of wordpress hosting,Would you guys recommend switching or should I stay with wp.com?
I own an app development company and I’m looking for somewhere where I can put clear videos of my apps up… and some more features that I could only do in wp.org would you guys recommend? I can’t afford wp.com vip… so Im not sure of which route to take, Any advice is much thanked for!,
