Switching my wordpress.com free blog to a .com or .org
-
Hi! I want to start using Woo Commerce on my blog so that I can start selling products. I currently own courtingmadness.com, and wanted to switch my free wordpress blog to this name. However, I am not sure if I need to self-host on wordpress.org or the wordpress.com in order to be able to sell products and use Woo Commerce. Someone from GoDaddy told me that if I switch to wordpress.org (which would allow me more freedom) I would have to rebuild my site. I do not want to rebuild my site as I have spent 4+ years building it and gaining an audience.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys! :D

If you wish to use WooCommerce, you will need to move to a self-hosted WordPress.org site setup.
This guide will help you through the process:
We also offer a paid migration service called Guided Transfer:

I own cocojginger.com through wordpress. What would I need to purchase or add to change this site into a page where I could use WooCommerce and sale?
I don’t fully understand the difference between wordpress.com and wordpress.org. Is the .org simply mean I am self-hosting it? And the .com means it’s free through wordpress? Thanks for all your help. :)

There is no way to use WooCommerce with a WordPress.com hosted site.

Yes. You are self-hosting and using the free WordPress software available at WordPress.org.
And the .com means it’s free through wordpress?
It means that your site is here on WordPress.com.
